It seems like children are constantly growing. As time passes, before you know it your little baby is a big boy or big girl. Along with that is the fact that their feet are always stretching out and it seems like they are always in need of new shoes. But, how can a parent buy for cheap all of the shoes that their child needs? Can they be the frugal fashionista that they need to be to keep their children in stylish shoes which are not going to cause their family to go broke? Here's how parents can get the shoes while saving the cash:
1. See if any one that you know has some shoes that they don't need, and you make yours available also. As kids grow, most parents start to expect that their child will outgrow their shoes faster than they can get a good wear out of them. Ask around to parents that you know. Churches and schools and other places where there are lots of families with kids are sure to be filled with people that have an abundance of outgrown kids shoes!
2. Consider a shoe switching party! Families will have a ball as they swap shoes. As the host, you just provide a few snacks and watch people enjoying saving and friendship!
3. Let the frugal fashionista in your come alive at a thrift or consignment shop. Find loads of shoes that you can buy for cheap at your local thrift or consignment shop. With these deals, you can expect to spend as little as $1 per pair! If you go the consignment route, then, you could actually get the shoes for FREE just by bringing some of your other stuff and selling them to the store for store credit.
4. Buy shoes after the holidays. Often, stores will have loads and loads of shoes available after Christmas and Easter. Always buy shoes off season. For instance, buy the sandals in the Fall and the boots in the late Winter or early Spring. That's when the shoes are usually discounted up to 75% off.
5. If you absolutely must have the shoes, try to buy them when the store offers a Buy One, Get One deal. Then, you can at least get 2 pairs of shoes for the price of 1! Also, look for coupons in your Sunday paper. Many large department stores will offer coupons in their weekly sale circular.
